Party

I went to a Stampin' Up party today with my friend Bridget.

I love making cards with someone else's stuff.

I was able to use the embossing powder/heat gun thing, which I don't have here at my house.
I'm not very good at it, but it's still fun to use.

We made three cards, ate very good food, and I placed an order for a St. Patrick's day stamp.

What a fun way to spend the afternoon!
Thanks Julie!

Card of the Week

I've done it!
I've started selling cards at a little store down the street!

Now hopefully that will be a jump in the right direction... more stores in the future I hope!!
Here is something that will be for sale there tomorrow:

Valentine's day cards for school!!!

on the pink side part there are slits cut in the top and bottom to add a pencil or a lollypop.

They will be in sets of 25 plus a teacher card for Valentine's day.

Here's the link to the store: http://shareitagain.net/
(there is this huge white box at the top of the page that shows up, but if you scroll down you'll get to see the information...not sure what is up with that...??)

I've got a lot more to bring with me tomorrow to leave at the store...
but I wanted to share this one because I'm excited about Valentine's day!

Retiring this One...

one of my earliest craft projects:

While on my organizing/getting things done kick...
I was packing up the Christmas stuff (all organized, sorted)
and found this little gem.

Note the date: 1987...

that's a long time for a taped toegether construction paper box to be around.

It's been a construction paper mess 'un-box' for a few years... and it hasn't made the tree for a long time.

So I decided to take some pictures, and then throw it away.

Pictures last a lot longer.

It's been around long enough that I don't think I'll have trouble remembering it.
but just in case,
I took the pictures.

In a few more years we may have another construction paper box on our tree - this time with a little boy's face on it instead. :)

Card of the Week

Fantastic!

I love lazy Saturdays! :)

I just used gray card stock, stripped scrapbook paper, and one stamp for this easy card.

Hope your weekend is a good one so far!

Getting things done

Although most years I never make resolutions...

apparently this year I have!

I think it's because I'm not at a stressful job and have more time to think about things.
So, anyway,

Our basement living room turned into the "North Pole" in December.

Christmas gifts, cards, wrapping paper, decorations... it was a mess.
Every other year I would have just thrown it back in it's box and said "I'll organize it all next year".
Well...
I'm organizing it this year.
And I'm trying to be more purposeful about getting. things. done.
Not, oh I'll set this aside and then when I have a whole lot of time (read: never) I'll do it.

Gluing a wall hanging together.
Sewing up a new bath mat.
Framing pictures.
Making a table runner for the coffee table.

All things I thought of doing, but hadn't done.

Until this month!!

Wahoo!

On the list is still many more projects -
but hopefully I'll continue to just do the project instead of thinking about it.

In other news ~ such as card making ~
I made a contact at a store on the way to our church about selling my cards there.
I have an appointment in two weeks to show them some samples.
Valentine's Day cards, here we come! ;)

hearts... love... and it's only January! ;)

Card of the week

Well, I thought I would be showing you my Christmas thank-you cards...

but I'm not.

I'm saving that for another day.

Here is another card that I'm pretty excited about though:

The cream paper and the light pink paper are done with the cuttlebug. :)

Week one of the resolution = success!

New tools :)

I was lucky enough to receive many craft items for Christmas this year!

I got a new punch that you can place anywhere on the page - it has a magnetic base so you are not limited to just however far it goes on the edge of the paper!

I also received a Cuttlebug which is practically limitless as far as embossing and cut-outs go!  I have started a collection of accessories for it already!

I got a tiny snowflake puncher ~ which will be great for confetti - watch out!! :)

Up next this week I'll show you a picture of my Christmas thank you cards.

Happy New Year!

Resolution for the new year:

Post regularly on the blog.

By regularly I mean, two times a week.  Once to show a card I made that week, and once to share other news or events.

Here's to a better blog in 2012!!

and... no, this does not count as one post for this week ~ there will be two more coming!
